Domestic Relations Judge Cook Files for Election to DR Judgeship

Four Common Pleas judges announced today that they will be seeking re-election to their seats in November of 2026. Judges Christine Croce, Alison McCarty and Tammy O’Brien will be seeking re-election to their seats on the General Division Bench, and Judge Katarina Cook will be seeking to keep her seat on the Domestic Relations Court. Each judge has previously been elected to her seat at least twice. The judges have combined judicial experience of almost 75 years at the Common Pleas and Municipal levels.
“It is my honor to serve in this position, and I look forward to sharing with the public my vision for the future of this court,” McCarty, who currently serves as the Court’s Administrative Judge, said.
“I am excited to serve in this fashion, and I pledge to the public that I will work as hard as I ever have to keep this community safe,” said O’Brien.
“Being a judge is a life-long dream, and I will make my case to the public that I will continue to administer justice, fairly, impartially and efficiently,” declared Croce.
“As Administrative judge of the Domestic Relations Court, I have started many new initiatives in the best interest of children that help make the process of parents separating less stressful for families,” stated Cook. “I want to continue to work toward that goal.”
The judges will be holding a joint Campaign Kick-off event on Thursday, November 6,2025, from 4:30-7:00 pm at Missing Falls Brewery, 540 S. Main Street, Suite 122, in downtown Akron.
The campaign event is sponsored and paid for by the judges’ campaign committees: Keep Judge Croce Committee, Citizens for Judge Alison McCarty, Committee to Keep Judge O’Brien, and Friends of Judge Katarina Cook.
